Such a simple, winter drink but brings back such good memories of snowy afternoons of my childhood. I no longer live in the snow (thank goodness!) but that doesn't mean I can't share my love of hot chocolate with my kids. Today was a rainy and bitterly cold day. Hot chocolate and whipped cream to the rescue! Chocolate joy in a cup!
With marshmallows. With whipped cream. Any way you like it, hot chocolate is the perfect drink on a chilly, chilly day. We had snow over the weekend and it's still pretty chilly here. The boys wanted to play outside but didn't last long. Soon they were inside again and begging for hot chocolate. Of course, I couldn't turn them down and I couldn't pass up a cup for myself. Hot chocolate on a chilly day is joy - no matter how you dress it up!
For me, chocolate solves all problems. Want something sweet after dinner? Three Hershey's chocolate kisses and I'm satisfied. Feeling cranky? A glass of chocolate milk will do the trick. Hot, sunny day? A chocolate ice cream cone will cool me off! Today, after our glorious sunny, warm spring day yesterday, it turned all cold and rainy. So the kids and I came home from school and had hot chocolate with whipped cream. Tasty joy on this dreary day!
